Communications Regulation Body Cautions Businesses Regarding Phone Systems Hacking Scandal
Figures unveiled by the communications regulator have revealed that there has been various cases of unlawful hacking of phone systems in the first part of 2011.
The Commission for Communications Regulation (Comreg) has issued an alert to all businesses and organisations after there’s been a rise in the number of individuals who think their telephone exchanges could have been illicitly compromised.
The statutory body, which is accountable for the regulation of the electronic communications sector including telecommunications, radiocommunications and broadcasting transmission and the postal sector, looked into 22 problems from the first six months of this year and of these claims, 21 were looked at as legitimate.
